Dear Ladies:
The Tuckahoe Garden Club of Westhampton would like to welcome you to the 2010 Zone VII
Meeting, “Four Seasons of Green.” We look forward to having you join us in Richmond and
sharing with you all of the wonderful things Richmond has to offer.
The meeting will begin on Wednesday, September 22nd, with registration at The Westin, 6631
West Broad Street, in Richmond. The “Four Seasons of Green” Flower Show and Round Table
Discussions with presidents, delegates, and zone reps will be Wednesday afternoon at The
Westin, followed by cocktails and dinner in our members’ beautiful homes. Thursday morning
we will begin at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden for a walking tour and business meeting. In
the afternoon we will have a bus tour of historic Hollywood Cemetery and Monument Avenue,
followed by guided tours of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and its new wing. Afterwards,
afternoon tea will be served in the Museum’s new gardens. That evening there will be cocktails
in the garden courtyard at The Westin followed by the Awards Dinner in the ballroom. We will
end our meeting Friday with two nationally known speakers and an optional tour of historic
Tuckahoe Plantation, the boyhood home of Thomas Jefferson and the current home of our club
member and a former club president, Sue Thompson.
The “Four Seasons of Green” Flower Show Schedule may be found on either the Garden Club of
America’s web site or The Tuckahoe Garden Club of Westhampton’s web site. Flower Show registration
can be downloaded from both of these web sites. The Tuckahoe Garden Club of Westhampton’s
web site is where you will find the form for the meeting registration and the schedule of events,
as well as information for room reservations at The Westin.
The newly opened Westin is a beautiful “green” hotel with a chic contemporary décor. Be sure
to bring your exercise clothes as there is an exercise room, an indoor pool and a walking/jogging
route.
We hope you will join us for the 2010 Zone VII Meeting, “Four Seasons of Green”.
Sincerely,
Preston Gomer and Liz Carden
